Removal from the Sun Life Core Investment Platform: Morgan Stanley Global Franchise Segregated Funds

Plan sponsors may wish to consider whether this investment news has any implications for the investment options available within their plans. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada purchases units of the funds listed below, which are established as segregated funds in accordance with the Insurance Companies Act (Canada).

Sun Life Group Retirement Services regularly reviews the Core investment platform in response to Client interest and evolving fund offerings in the market.

Effective immediately, Sun Life will no longer offer the Morgan Stanley Global Franchise Segregated Fund and Morgan Stanley Global Franchise Segregated Fund (Registered) (the Funds) as part of the Core investment platform. We’ll continue to conduct governance on the Funds until December 31, 2025.

We are removing the Funds due to lack of client interest.

How will this impact plans that currently offer the Funds?

The Funds will close in the first quarter of 2026.
