Despite many strides in achieving women’s equity, a gender health gap still exists. It’s due to many reasons, ranging from a lack of awareness, to stigmas, to insufficient research on women’s health. This long history of inadequate recognition and support still impacts women today – including in the workplace.

Working women can benefit greatly from targeted health supports. Women’s physiology is different than men’s in many ways. That, combined with other determinants of health, can lead to unique health impacts in several major health areas, such as reproductive, cardiovascular, and mental health.

Partnership with the Menopause Foundation of Canada

We’ve partnered with the Menopause Foundation of Canada (MFC) to raise awareness of women's health and identify ways to better support women in the workplace. The partnership includes the development of resources for employers and research on the impact of menopause in Canadian workplaces.

We encourage all employers to join the Menopause Works HereTM campaign. The campaign champions menopause inclusive workplaces in Canada, and encourages employers to demonstrate their support for the wellbeing of employees experiencing menopause. The Menopause Inclusive Playbook can help you get started. It’s a practical, five-step guide to inspire your organization to take action.

That’s why we’re helping employers address women’s health needs. Our suite of resources includes research information to help employers understand the issue, and playbooks that outline tangible actions employers can take.
